C-Suite members will meet in the coming weeks to decide who will succeed Jeff Bezos as CEO of Amazon.
Jeff Bezos has been with the company for more than 20 years.
The C-team consists of senior executives, including CFO and COO Jeff Bezos, COO Mike Novogratz and Chief Technology Officer Patrick Byrne.
It is the third-highest-ranking C-segment of the company.
The team will also be asked to decide whether to continue as a standalone entity, merge with another company or become part of the larger Amazon empire.
“We are excited to welcome Amazon to our team,” CEO Jeff Bezos said in a statement.
“We have a fantastic team and they are bringing the Amazon brand to life through innovation and growth.
Amazon has always been a leader in innovation and technology and we are thrilled to be working with them in this way.”
The announcement of the C team comes after a long search for the next Amazon CEO.
Last month, former Google executive Andy Rubin was hired to be the next CEO.
But he has been out of the picture for more the last few months.
In his statement, Amazon said the C staff has “earned the confidence of the entire C-senior leadership team and we look forward to building a team that will drive our future success.”
While the company has been a target for speculation for several years, this announcement seems to confirm speculation.
At this point, Amazon has not announced any new hires or even a name for a successor to Jeff Bezos.
The company did not comment on speculation.
