A man in the Bronx shot a neighbor to death over a noise complaint, authorities say

A man shot a neighbors to death in the early hours of Monday in the borough of Staten Island.

Police said the shooting occurred at a home in the 2800 block of West 39th Street just after 3 a.m.

They identified the man as Michael Kaczynski, a 53-year-old man who lived in the block.

A neighbor told police he heard gunshots and saw a man running from the home.

He said he called 911 to report what he thought was a man with a gun, police said.

When officers arrived at the home, they found Kaczyk lying in the driveway with a gunshot wound to the head, police spokesman Paul Browne said.

They later found the man’s girlfriend and Kaczys son at a nearby residence.

Police found Kacszyk’s girlfriend at the scene, Browne said, and she was arrested on a charge of attempted murder.

The girlfriend told police she was going to get a gun for her boyfriend and that Kaczos father had threatened her, according to Browne.
